London South Collegiate Institute is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year!
The original school opened in 1922, in an abandoned elementary school on Askin Street near Wharncliffe Road, which had served as Victoria Public School.
South students attended this location from 1922 to 1928, before moving to the new building on Tecumseh Avenue East.
To mark the beginning of the anniversary year, the South Collegiate Alumni Association will unveil an historic plaque on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the modern-day Victoria Public School (130 Wharncliffe Road South). All are welcome to attend to see student newspapers and photographs from the era. The reception will run from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM., with the unveiling at 7:30 PM.
We look forward to seeing you as we celebrate this historic occasion.
